iv did a upgrade from xp home to xp pro and it went well but now it says i

apparently my hard drive is dead...when I went to turn my computer on, only
the fans came on, although I can feel activity in the hard drive, nothing

I decided to create a dual boot 32/64 installation on a secondary computer
in my home.
Everything for the installation went as intended. However, upon initial boot
from the hard drive into Windows, the welcome screen is chopped and distorted
