I recently (Thursday) re-installed Vista x64 because I experienced major
issues which turned out to be the RAID drivers on the Gigabyte controller on
my board.  Switching them to to the Intel controller instantly solved all the
problems I had experienced previously.

About 8 months ago I purchased Vista Ultimate Upgrade, because I was
upgrading the PC I had than from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate.  Upgraded all went
smooth no problems.
Fast forward to today.  The old PC has passed on and a New PC (HP Pavillion

I also noticed that if I boot-up & go for coffee come back & then log in. My
desktop appears right away & within twenty secs I can run Winmail & get my
mail.
I did not know that Vista continues to load,while at the log on screen.Has

Gurus,
Just ordered a Dell laptop with Windows XP 64-bit edition.  However, the
only antivirus software which can be placed on the laptop from Dell is
32-bit versions.  Is there a 64-bit antivirus software out there?

 I am using Win XP x64. When I startup my computer, the memory (I have
768M) drops down to about 300M and then below 150M, sometimes falling below
40M. But every once in a blue moon, the memory starts at above 500M and falls
to around 350M. Any ideas on how I can get it to do ...

Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side
authentication.  The data field contains the error number.

Here is an interesting information.I I went to Msconfig & disabled
everything in Start-up & in services I disabled everything except Microsoft
services.
Guess what.....it takes a whopping 3 mins & 20 secs to boot timing from when

Is there anyway the red button in the start menu can be set to shut down the
computer instead of putting it to sleep mode?
This is because my network card (ASUS Striker Extreme MOBO with NVidia
nForce networking controllers) crashes whenever my computer enters sleep

reactivation after just updating a hard disk driver.
Does anybody know whether this sensitivity to hardware (or driver) changes

I installed XP Pro x64 in a dual with XP Pro x32 on my workstation last
night.  The install went pretty well, with the installer having all the
drivers it needed to get a usable system (the printer being the one

all the boxes that pop up and the icons on my desktop have suddenly gotten
huge.
the font is still the same size though. ive tried going to start,control
panel, display etc. to change it but the box to have large icons is not
