I really could use some help?? I have a Compaq Dp4000s pc
which is only a mmx233 but it serves only one purpose and
does it very well. I installed Win 95 from disk as the
machine does not have a cdand the Compaq Cd for it is

got the set up disc, it says it needs ms dos 8?
win 95 was the original version on my pc, and i dont know
how to completely restore the system or at least re

Is there a way I can obtain a copy of Win. 95 without
paying for another copy?   I would like to fix my existing
copy so I can upgrade to XP.  I do not have any info on my
95 copy that was corrupted on my computer and my original

I seem to recall there being an executable that would fix
this when the links on the desktop quite working??

1.  My computer indicates it has '1.96GB' capacity.  
1.7g GB is used, and 25MB is free.  Is this the reason why

I have worked through the Aug 23 Windows 95 and XP Steve  Winograd response
and find that I do not have the Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP option in the
window on my Win95 machine.  Is there a way for me to get this?  Also, when
I boot up, I get "A required DLL is missing" and WS2_32 ...

Have just obtained a Cyrix 133MHz 32MB with Win95, IE 5.00.2314
Would installing IE5.5 SP2 be the best option? What about IE6?
What updates/patches (if any) should be obtained for Win95?

i am trying to install win95 on an old computer but it
keeps telling me it can't because i need to create a ms-
dos boot partition. is there anyone out there who knows
how and would be able to converse with me via e-mail to

Now that Microsoft has abandoned support of Windows 95,
does any have instructions (that work) for removing
viruses?

My old Win95 PC is full of stuff and very very slow.
I reinstalled Win95 from the standard win95 CD.  
The reinstall made no difference and all the old programs
are still installed.

In my Win 95 machines I would like to know the IP Address
of my NIC cards.  I tried "ipconfig/all" but it returned
a not found message.  Is there another way?

was not able to obtain a proprietary brand of anti-Virus software
for Windows 95.  Has recently been infested with the
worms/trojans/virus "JS/IEStart.gen.d" and "Downloader-DS" (detected

Need help restoring a DLL file for Win95. Specific file is
WS2_32.DLL. The loss of the file has created problems when
trying to open certain apps.

my computer will only boot up in the safe mode....and i do
not have access to my cd drive only the diskette drive.  i
cannot access my printer......and i dont seem to have a
virus.....
