Computer consistently starts up in Safe Mode in W98-SE31 Dec 2003 23:00 GMT1
My computer is constantly starting up in Safe Mode, even
after verifying with the msconfig utility that this should
not be the case.  I have run sfc to insure integrity of
all system files.

Can I use a Win 98 "Start-up" disk (that came with a new
computer with Win 98 installed) to install the Win 98
program in another computer that's currently has Win 95
installed, or do I need to purchase the Win 98 program?

Want to conect a XP PC to a W95a PC.  The XP can see W98
PC's ok, but not my W95.  In network connections the NICs,
TCP/IP, and 'Client for MS Networks' are installed. -
except, that in W95 'Help' it implies only Netware comes

#1 Problem - Can not do a scandisk. It never completes. It
does complete under safe mode but not in regular mode. I
downloaded AVG Anti Virus and all updates and it does not
find any viruses. I thought maybe I would update to win98

I recieved a computer and the harddrive was formatted so I
installed dos6.2 and then installed Windows 95. now
Windows will only run in the safe mode and I can't figure
out why. I did not install any drivers or anything. Please

following message when Windows 98 boots up.  It
