Having some trouble with the Java stuff. When I
go to a site with Java, I'm getting "Java Runtime Environment
Cannot be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>"
Any pointers would be appreciated....

Let me start by saing this is the closest to DOS I could find for a news

Friends of mine have win95 machine that works fine for them, except that
they now need a usb port to download pictures from their recently acquired
digital camera..
Is it at all possible to have a  usb port installed on a win95 machine?

When I try to map a network drive to a Win2000 or WinServer2003 box
from Win95, I get a popup window asking for a password to connect to
(for example) //Jojo/C$
I enter the correct administrator password for Jojo, but I still get an

Well I got Win 95 reloaded after reformatting my hard drive. Now I get the
following during Windows 95 start up.

I have one doubt about tcp/ip: the tcp/ip protocol is supplied only  by
microsoft or not? I question you about it, because when you install the
tcp/ip protocol(Control Panel->Network->add->protocol) in all windows OS the

Have an old AT&T with Win 95 2.0. Will not load program from boot disk or cd.
Gets POST and then says loading Win 95 and freezes. It was working before I
tried to upgrade HD from 1 gig to 4. Put it back in original condition and
now I'm stuck. Appreciate any help.

I need to install win95 on a laptop that does not have a CD drive.  I have
the Win95 CD, but not the floppies.  Can I make a full set of install

Oddly enough, I can't seem to defrag my primary hard drive (the one with most
of the files).  After getting through 8-10% of the process, the defrag
program issues an error indicating that it can't access that part of the HDD.
It indicates that I need to run a "Thorough" ...

Hello, my Toshiba satellite 2800-S201 laptop, which has Windows ME as its OS
and not Windows 95, is having dial-up network software problems. What was
happening was when I tried to dial into my ISP I would be able to log on and
get past the userID and password authentication ...
