My mother-in-law (yes we do speak) has an old computer running Windows 95 and Windows Exporer 5.0. She does a few spreadsheets and accesses the web via a dial-up modem, no powerful hardware required, so no need to upgrade for that reason.

After a clean install of Win 95 (4.00.950) on a computer with a 2.80 GHz Pentium 4 processor, 510 MB RAM and a Radeon 9800 graphics card, I see the animated startup screen for about one minute but then get the message "Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer."
