Does anyone know if there is a way to identify which MS software a product
key goes to?  I have a bunch of Certificates of Authenticity with product
codes, but it does not say on the certificates which software they go to.  My
guess is that most of these are Win95, Win98, WinNT, ...

I lost my Win95 install CD, but have the 13 install floppy disks.  I
have seen many posts on how to create install floppies from the CD,
but I would like to go the other way, since installing from 13 floppy
disks takes WAY longer then using the CD and obviously requires far

My brother has an old IBM Aptiva running Win95.  While browsing the
internet it locked up and he received this error message:
"Windows has disabled direct disk access to protect your long
file-names.  To override this protection, see the LOCK /? command

I have a question related to the Colors Properties of Windows 95.
When I got this one computer, it was only able to display in the 16-colors
spectrum. (Also, only 640x480 resolution.)
Is there any way to get at least 256 colors? (And, also, even 800x600

My apologies for this post as it isn't really a technical query. Its just
that I've noticed a few people who may still have a few copies out there of
Win95/98.
A colleague of mine has just posed a question to me and I thought one of you
