Windows 98/SE, C Drive is 30 GB Western Digital, D Drive is 40 GB Maxtor, E
Drive is 80 GB Western Digital
I tried install Red Hat to 80 GB, couldn't make it work.  Somehow or other I
messed up the D drive.

After formatting my hard drive, I put the win 98 cd in
drive as it started to install I recieved a message saying
that I needed to run scandisk on drive c:\ As scan disk
started I recieved a message that bad clusters had been

Ok i have an abit nf7s main board. Am currently running
windos 98 Se. i have a Dual IDE controller on this Main
board. amd 2300 mhz processor. I believe the IDE
controller has something to do with a SATARaid ?? not

after I partition a new HD, and set up for large disk
support only 2GB is recognized, after rebooting the bios
states disk size is 2048 MB, I view fdisk status and there
one partition showing at 2GB. please help

I did fdisk and format on my hard drive but forgot to
transfer the system files.  Now I can't even get to a
command prompt and boot disks are not working.  I get the
message "system disk invalid".  What can I do????

I am trying to run a cd in my d drive.  It won't load,
when I scanned my D Drive with Norton it reads  "unable to
access drive d. The drive is locked by a disk utility.
Scan again when the disk is no loger locked."   How can I

I uninstalled McAfee Spam Killer and upon re-boot my CD
ROM and CDRW both disappeared from Device Manager and from
My Computer. I have noticed that Only 1 IDE channel shows
up under the hard disk controller. I can get the CD drives
CD-Rom and CD-Rewriter drives are not working.  Can someone help me?17 Aug 2003 17:18 GMT1
They worked just fine yesterday... I didn't know what
happened, but I plugged in the USB 2.0 Storage today and
it appeared to be drive D and E, then after that there was
a message saying that drive D and E were not working

The first time this happened was a few months ago, but all
it did was corrupt Temporary Internet Files and put the
files in a new folder on C drive.  The TIF folder was fine
though.
