It looks like I have to wipe my C: drive and reinstall Win98. But once the drive is wiped, how do you install? Will it just start running if I put the Win98 disk in the drive? How can it even recognize the CD drive?

Windows 98 crashes very frequently and has to be manually switched off. The Scandisk which follows on reboot shows that in the File System check there was a lost cluster. Where do this lost cluter come from?

I want to uninstall Fat 32 because I've been advised not to use it on my old almost-full computer. I'm trying to free up space, but not by compressing disks. Can anyone tell me how to safely uninstall Fat 32?

I installed a 30 gig external usb drive to backup a 18 gig internal drive. Microsoft Backup will only let me backup to Type "File" and to a ".qic" file. Problem is that after 4 gigs, it asks for new media. My guess is that QIC

The floppy drive makes a noise every half an hour or so (which lasts for about 5 mins) It sounds like it is trying to read a floppy disk although I haven't asked it to and there is nothing in there anyway.
