I originally posted this problem aug 24th but havent
gotten a reply and its driving me crazy. Any burnt cd's I
try to run are not recognized and I get a message that
drives not ready. I narrowed this down now to cdrw disks

intoan 8gig? i am using this as a secondary drive to store

Where did it go?? When I ordered a new hard drive for my
computer and installed Windows 98, the compression agent
was missing.  I have two floppy disks that are compressed
and cannot be opened without the compression agent, so I

i have a second computer, it is very old, only has a
pentium 1.6 and it was using windows 98. we moved it to a
new room and sometimes it would ask for a boot disk and
sometimes it would load fine, thing is we've never used a

Computer will not boot up.  Getting message "Invalid
system disk; insert disk into drive A"  I do not have the
disk.  How can I fix this so my computer will start up?

I tried to install a new hard drive to upgrade my
computer.  My old hard drive was only a 4 I am upgrading
to an 80 gigabyte drive.  I am running windows 98 SE, with
a Pentium II at 400mhz.  I followed the directions for the

Windows explorer is telling me that the disk i have in the
drive is not formatted..... this is not so!
What could be the cause of this?

sir my system windows 98 corrupted.so i delete the windows
directory from the c:. it shows some error messages.that
is himem.sys corrupted, command.com corrupted.in the dos
mode (c>) only comes.

I have recently purchased a Tekram TR-1394W Firewire card
and I am having trouble installing the driver for it.  I
have installed the card as instructed, when I boot the
computer up the card is recognised and starts its search

I may have found the fix in the knowledge base on this
website.  I was trying to install anti-virus software,
then when I restarted I got the message "Invalid system

Windows 98 does not directly recognize an external Canon
MO drive.  Am looking to see if there is a realmode driver
such as ASPI4DOS that will allow WIN 98 to see the drive.
