when ever i try to scan disk i get a " ScanDisk has
restarted 10 times because windows or another program has
been writing to this drive....." what should i do?? thanks

just installed a new cdrw in an old 98 system and it's
showing up 8 times in 'My Computer' and in device manager.
It works (or seems to),it's just really annoying!
Any ideas?

I restarted my computer after choosing to end task for
explorer.exe.  I restarted because the program was not
responding.  I could not launch Windows 98 because of the
following appearing immediately upon rebooting:

now I can't event open the windows.  I just download the
boot disk from bootdisk.com.  What I have to do next ???

I upgraded my windows 95 to windows 98 second edition.
After a couple of years now when I start to copy files to
a floopy disk, I get the Mprexe.exe not responding errow.
How do I correct this. I now have a new computer with

win.ini can not find msinfo.exe. I have searched for the
file but it is not on the hard drive. How do I correct

Recently purchased a Cendyne cdrw (didn't know they had
closed their doors, no employees, no support) and when I
took out the Acer I had installed a couple of years ago
both the d and e drive dissappeared from my computer.

After installing an HP PSC 2110( printer,scanner,copier) my CD rom  drive
became inoperative. I went to Safe mode and deleted the drive and rebooted
to see if Win98 would reload the driver. Instead I got a request to insert
the Win98 Installation disc. My problem is that I cannot do ...

A friends computer froze up and he was able to reformat
the hard drive. In trying to reload the operating system,
I was able to get to the first section of the Win98 CD,
but after looking at the specifics of the disk, it came up
