How do I get more local drives past e? Trying to help a
friend install an extra HD. Drive letters A-E are taken.
CMOS shows extra HD but cannot see it in Win98 explorer.

Every time I try to perform scan disc,or de-frag I get the
message: I have a windows program running, and for me to
stop running the program. I can't find which program is

I had to reformat my master hard drive and reinstall
windows 98.  After doing so, I can't access my slave

My father-in-laws Win 98 system shows operating system
not found on any devises when he turns computer on. I
plan to go to it tomorrow and try an F5 when it is
booting ( if it is booting up).  Or an F8 and try to back

I have had many issues with Windows 98 SE....Compaq
preinstalled the software, and personally I think it was a
lemon. Anyway, I have upgraded to XP. I know I saved my

I couldn't get my floppys to work correctly so I decided
to format and reinstall Win98SE.  It seems I copied the
wrong product code key.  Where would I find this 25 digit
number.  The one I have is 12403-oem-0076985-01590 which

I am defintely a novice at this. But My computer would not
run Microsoft Office 2000 professional and I deleted it.

I think I got a virus, so I formatted the hard drive
but now when i try to shutdown i get a message saying its
now safe to turn off your computer,but when i press the
button nothing happens I have to pull out the plug.

I am trying to connect a USB external hard drive to an old
Windows '98 machine and Windows '98 does not have support
for USB drives. Where can I find a driver?
