First, the context in which this occurred, I was doing a
lot of cleaning up on my system, deleting hundreds of
files, and uninstalling programs, etc. I was going to
empty the recycle bin when it contained a lot of files and

Presumably a virus blanked these both?
Been having difficulty booting the machine up (80% of
time) and needs to be brought up in safe mode then

I purchased this motherboard, and set it all up, when i
tried to install the floppy drive, it doesnt recognize it.
It says its there, its enabled in the bios, but when i try

boot disk and issue a format /? command, we get a list of the switches that
can be used. I remember using something like format c: /u where u is for

sound plays when i play cds but not when i play video
files and the display on my computer is minimal, it says
16 colors on my display settings. i have been advised i
may need to reset my hard drive or alter my bios settings..

My son's computer suddenly is not reading from the CD
ROM. I have tried everything and nothing works. I do not
have an internet connection on this computer. Here is

First time i noticed something wrong was when my cd-r
drive stopped working. I thought maybe it went bad but
know my regular cd drive went out and I have no sound and

Was about to put Quicken 2004 on rarely used Maxtor 40GB
2nd drive (installed in master position circa 2001 and
formatted only 8BG as drive F) so to separate from
Quicken98 on drive C, when noticed that drive F was no

on a laptop running Windows NT I recently reformated the
hard disc and installed Windows 98. It seems that half of
the hard disc has retained the Windows NT file system and
is therefore not available to Windows 98.
