In my computer properties, the prefromance tab say's my
system file is using Ms-Dos compatibilty mode not FAT32.
I tried to reformat my hard disk, same problem appears.

I have a reference to a file *.dbx that does not exist
anymore, every time I empty the recycling bin or do
maintenance on the disk to reclaim directories or file
structure, that long file name reference keep coming back.

I have a friend with a IBM Laptop and they are being asked
for the 2nd CD for Windows 98.
I have 2 copies of Windows 98 Second Edition but they are

I have windows 98 second edition with active desktop
installed on my computer.  
When I open up windows explorer, it display two hard
drives with identical subfolders and files.  I have only

I reformatted my HD, ran FDisk, Fat 32 and reinstalled
Win98.  Now Win reports the HD as a 1.99GB drive instead
of 4.2GB.  If I run FDisk it reports 1 primary partition
of 4104 MG (4 GB).  If I run CHKDSK it reports a 2.1 GB

I picked up a used Pine pc 2/333 to tinker with. All
hardware appears to be working normally and it came with a
Win98 CD. However, when I start up the computer the boot
up sequence comes to a stop at "detecting primary master,"
