it wont start at all people ive used the bootdisk website
that i was given in a previous post but windows 98 still
wont start with my hard disk installed as it says remove
all media and disks. if i take this out it still wont

We just had to reinstall Windows 98 on our computer and
the hard drive was re-formatted.  When we look at the C:
drive in Windows explorer, it only shows 4G of space even
though the hard disk is 13G.  Under FDISK /STATUS it shows:
98 cd30 Nov 2003 22:03 GMT4
My computer crashed & I need to download windows 98
again but I have lost my windows 98 cd.      
Could someone tell me where I can purchase another
windows 98 cd and bootable disc??

Just recently device manager doesn't list both my cdrw and
my dvd.  All cables have been checked.  I can't access
either drive to even reload windows. I've d/l new drivers
but that hasn't done anything since there is no device

hi, i have just formatted my C drive (main HD) in an
attempt to clean out my memory. Have actually got it
formatted, but now cannot reinstall Win 98 as i actually
dont know how. Lol i realise this seems really stupid,

00h, 3.2gb and seagate st34313a, 4.3gb) but fdisk won't
partition over 499mb. I'm using fdisk on the w98 startup

Recently I Had My Hard Disk formatted and my OS is Win 98 SE. Everything is
fine but when I shut down the usual "It IS Now Safe To Switch Off Your
Computer" doesn't appear any more.
Can it be fixed??

Windows 98 will not boot-up.  I have a boot up disk that i
made before this happened, when i insert it and run it
with or with out cd rom support this message comes
up "windows 98 has detected that Drive C does not contain

I have two cd-rom drives. When I start up the computer I
get a message that states I should check the boxes for
disconnet and auto insert notification. Both drives are
IDE drives. If I select yes to have both of these options

I've been trying to fix my CD-ROM drive now for a month,
but nothing works. As for the basic symptoms - "F:/"
or "D:/" drive(s) do not appear in the "My computer"

The other day we were looking at some pictures we had
burned onto a CD, everything was fine until I tried to
eject the CD.  I got the message "No supported CD-R/CD-RW
drive!"  I tried running 'directcd' with no results.  I
