I have a hp Pavilion with CD-Writer Plus with Windows 98. The CD Rom Drive is blinking and I cannot read any disc. When I try to use M:\ it states "not ready" Someone please help!!!!

I have Windows 98 and just bought a dvd drive that is only compatible with Windows 98 SE or better. Can I upgrade to Windows 98 SE? Or does anyone know of DVD burners that will run on Windows 98?
