I am running W98SE. I decided to reformat the disk after a
suspect virus that manifested itself by severely
corrupting OE. I booted from the W98 startup floppy and
ran fdisk, deleted the Primary DOS Partition then

I am using Windows98 with my Syquest drive and Adaptec EZ-SCSI 4.0 software.
It has been working great for several years, now, however whenever I try to

I had been experiencing difficulty getting online through
my ISP and was told that I needed to upgrade to Windows 98
since the ISP updated their latest version to be

No problems with this system all along, then suddenly I cannot boot.

Upon booting, I get a Windows protection error, VKD.VXD.
Scandisk says there are bad blocks, then ran for days moving good data,

After problems with a virus, now resolved, I appear to
have a corrupted win.ini file. On startup I get a series
of messages that Windows cannot find, load or run
scvrsvr.exe, instit.bat, natal.scr, marco!.scr,

After installing Norton Systemworks and defragmenting my
C drive, fixing errors, etc...my computor will not start
up on Windows 98.  I am only able to access my D drive
that has Windows XP. What does "Invalid System Disk" mean?
