I have a system, otherwise apparently healthy, which asks you to run
Scandisk ("press any key") but ScanDisk won't run.  It will, however, if you
allow the boot to continue, and run it from the C: drive's Properties/Tools
dialogue.

For some time all files and folders display in reverse alphabetical
order.  I can get them to display beginning with "a" again but the
next time I look at them they are back to "z".  There must be a
flag somewhere to change this, I just can't find it.  Thanks for

Recently received a flash memory stick to use with my 98
laptop.  When I insert it in the USB port - it wants to
install a driver for a "flash disk".  Of course, there is
no such driver on the Win98SE disk and could not find one

I  have multiple operating systems ( on different partitions) on my
system ( Windows 98, Windows XP , Linux, OS/2 and ECS). Window 98 did
not see the partitions that were not formated as fat or fat32. Windows
XP sees these partitions as unformatted ones. Will i destroy these

Changed out my 8gb drive for a new 20gb
drive. I transfered all of the file to
the new hard drive. everthing seems to be
working "OK", no error message that I can see.

Working on a system that call up scandisk with every start
of windows, run it in full, also run Norton disk doctor
with no errors. Went through the registry with no luck.

i have a pentium 200mhz totally cleared harddrive and can
not reinstall with startup disk gives message INVALID
SYSTEM DISK  REPLACE THE DISK AND PRESS ANY KEY to which
i do however message remains cant even get MS DOS prompt
