I have had a computer since 1995,which was loaded with
Windows 95,then in 1999 I purchased Windows 98SE,I have
always had a small NEC 2.100 GB, HHD,recently I bought
Seagate 4.3 HHD,when I tried to loaded it,it went through

I just purchased the Pacific Digital 8X DVD R/RW drive.

Hi, I have a problem. I try to use Fdisk to create a
primary DOS partition so I can install Windows 98. It goes
through two things (0%-100%) then says I must restart my
computer for it to work. I've tried to restart. I've

I downloaded a defragment utility from the web as the one
supplied with Win98 didn't seem to go beyond 0%.
After a while the machine re-booted, but then gave a Low

Recently I repartitioned and reformatted my 40 gb
harddrive using FAT 16 option. Drive "c" is only the first
2 gb of my hd and the remainder (38 gb) is nowhere to be
found.I know in fat 16 the hd partitions are a max of 2

the partition seems to work.  it's a 6 gb drive and says
the primary dos partition is 5.7 gb.  but when i try to
run setup for win 98 on it i get an error saying that i
need 7 mb of free space.  there should be plenty of free

i have a 3 1/2 floppy drive installed on my computer, it
somehow in "My computer", it was changed to a 5 1/4 floppy
drive...does anyone know how to change it back?

I'm having trouble getting an additional 80G hard drive recognized in
fdisk.   Also, the computer will POST but not start Windows 98SE when
the hard drive is attached.  My machine is older, and so 80G is beyond
the motherboard's BIOS limit, but I have a PCI disk controller card
