Win98 can not see a drive larger than 137 Gbytes. Even by partitioning it to 2-100MB partitions, I still will not be able to use the 200MB drive? So the max partition will be based on 137 Gbytes? In other words can I partition my 200

I am running Win98. The computer would not boot up so I went to a boot disk. My first step was to scandisk. I received an error message saying that the FAT file was not allowing the scandisk function to be completed.

I am rebuilding a PC for a friend -- updating the motherboard, adding 80Gb WD 7200 rpm hard drive -- and they want to keep it Windows 98SE for now. My own systems have always been NT and now Windows 2000 Professional (always NTFS), so I am unfamiliar with Windows 98 stuff.

I just bought a Seagate HD and they said that win98 will not see the full 200 gbytes. Win98 will only see 137. I would like to get the service pack that address that. Seagate stated that I could download it here.
