I had to restore my system when I had a systems crash.  
How or where do I go to recover disk utility programs to
clear a floppy disk or cds.  I thought that their was on
my system.  I am unable to find.  Can anyone give me some

Dear Sir,
My objective is to prevent user to burn certain files into CD .For this I
need to find out the way of monitoring CD burn.I have written file system
filter driver.But writes/burns to CD are not passing through file system

I am trying to use my recovery disc.  When it starts to
run, I click on run restore,  I click on the next 3
screens that come up and the everything stops at that
point.  Does anyone know what is happening? Thanks

Hi, I've got an old packard bell pc running win98(1st
ed.) The problem i've got is that the floppy drive will
detect & read the startup disk at boot up, but every time
i try to use a floppy to read or write to, it churns away

Hi, I recently did a quick restore on my computer and ever
since it has not been recognizing my floppy disk
controller, or my PCI IDE controller, they are all listed
in my device manager with a yellow !  The box that says

My computer crashed.  I formatted my hard drive and
reinstalled Win98 per instruction booklet and supporting
software.  I am unable to write to Drive "E" but can read
from it.  When I go to "send to" command and error show

Bottom line here. CD-Rom and Burner are recognized in bios
and under Device Manager. Nothing is "X'd" or 'yellow/red'
in Device Manager. Power to each as I can load and eject.
Deleted all drives and HD controllers in manager and

OK...a friend gave me a Maxtor HDD from a computer that I
think was running Windows2000.  For some reason, my system
BIOS recognizes the hard drive on startup, but once
Windows98SE is loaded, the drive does not appear in File

When I boot from a CD to reinstall windows it says format
this drive is suggested.  I picked that and it says that
their is an error and can't format. How can I fix the

After closing all programs except explorer and systray
with ctrl-alt-delete, when the computer is idle for a few
minutes ( no key strokes or mouse movement) some program
starts to access "C" drive it so buisy sounds like I'm

having trouble comleting defrag was done in safe mode and
will only go to 37% and then nothing has anyone any ideas
