I have an older IBM laptop that crashed.  I am trying to
reinstall windows 95 or 98 and I am having no success.  I
cannot get the computer to read a CD or boot from a CD.  
When I go to format C: /S after using fdisk it goes to

Im using a HP pavilion 8240 10 year-old POS, to say the
least. All connections are in place, power is on and
connections are where theyre supposed to be. Heres the

machine. The problem is that I can only see the first (of
3) partitions on the drive. The other 2 partitions are not

I recently got a system with an 2Gig processor and a 40G
Seagate Hard Drive.  When I tried to install windows 98
it won't work.  When I used an older, smaller hard drive
it worked fine in the system.  I know that the Seagate is

use?  I have the win98 startup disk.
