My computer was pre-loaded with Windows when I got it.  I
am trying to install new software, but it tells me I need
to install CD #2 of the windows installation package.  
Since I don't have any disks, does anyone know what I can

Anyhow have any instructions on how to do this? Someone said I had to modify

I have a performance problem with my Win 98 system.  It is a Dell with a P
III / 550 MHz and 128 MB memory with 700 MB of free disk space.
The symptom often seems to be certain web sites that hang for no reason.  I

I have a samsung cd rom,and now installed a sony Cd
writer;however since installing the sony cd writer I don,t
get sound from speakers.The cd's appear to play but no

       I would like to perform a low level format on  a Western Digital 3.2G
HDD.  Note: "Format", that comes with the OS, only does high level formatting.
Do you know where I can get a generic low level HDD formatter program?

Anytime I delete a file from my slave hard drive it
doesn't get deleted.  Also if I format the hard drive,
either through Windows or in DOS it doesn't erase the
information on the hard drive.  Right now on the drive it

I can only use the disk defragmenter tool in safe mode
instead of the regular Win98 mode. Does it make a
difference whether to use this tool in safe mode or do I
have to reinstall Windows in order for this to work?

I recently purchased a new hard drive for my desk top.
When I formatted it, it showed only 2 gigs of memory even
though the hard drive has over 100.  I was told that it
was because it's formatted with FAT and that I need to
