I'm running Windows 98 SE and when I restarted my computer
scandisk started but did not complete scanning my hard
disk.  At 80 % in stopped and gave me the following
message, "ScanDisk detected an invalid long filename entry

I have two Dell computers that both came preinstalled with
Win98. I now need to reformat one of them, but I can only
find one CD and I don't know which one it is. I have a

Following on from a previous question regarding FDISK
problems with large hard disks (a problem which was
extremely quickly sorted by a couple of very helpful
chaps), I have run into more similar difficulties.

I had to reinstall my LAN driver and it required the
original WIN98 CD. While downloading the file the CD must
have got out of spin or something--bottom line it
literally exploded in thousands of pieces in the CD drive.

My AutoPlay is disabled on my CD-Rom Drive. I have to
activate it via 'My Computer'. Can anybody advise me how
to avtivate it.
I purchased my computer secondhand.

I have an Integral 64MB 1.1 Flash Drive.
No Problem on Windows ME and Windows XP.
But cannot get it to work with Windows 98 SE.
