I need a Windows 98SE CD-Rom.  I cannot find the CD-ROM
supplied by Gateway for my computer and Gateway says they
cannot supply another.  I need the CD-ROM to install a
file 'secur32.dll' required by Actiontec DSL modem.  Any

Thanks both of you for that, it turned out my cd rom
wasnt playing so I managed to load via my cdrw. Now the
next problem (oh my I will learn the hard way!).  Having

I just did a reinstall of 98SE for a friend.  I'm trying to set up her
broadband service, but the DSL SetUp says the minimum RAM requirement is 64
MB.  She only has 32 MB, and it's an old laptop, so upgrading isn't a viable

Hello I do hope that someone knows what I am talking about
becuase I am not sure.  I got an error that said that I am
missing a DLL. file.  I have just gotten SBC DSL they said
that the problem is not related and that I have to.

Suddenly I cannot use my CDRom. All I get is a message
saying "J:\is not accessible. The device is not ready".
Device Manager says it is working properly but it isn't? I

I don't know what happened but I'm severely low on disk

Control/Alt/Deleted to reboot.  When it rebooted, it got
the screen that shows what is in the autoexec.bat file and

Im Havin problems booting my my WIN98SE computer.  It
keeps pulling a "Windows Protection Error" on me. I tried
many of the steps in in KB article 188867 and article
302956 (except disabling items in Device manager and

ok, i'm a moron.  I cancelled an install of 98se from 3.1
and now I get the non-system disk error.  The microsoft
instructions tell me to type sys c: at the dos prompt,
but I can't GET to a dos prompt.  When I put in the
