Trying to do a recovery. I have 2 disk. When I insert
Dist 1 I click on recovery. It runs thru its process up
until a certain point. It says: "CDR101: Not ready

I have just reformatted and reloaded 98 on my machine. I
have a 40 gig hard drive, but after the reload the disk
space was only 741 Megs. What have I done wrong - Please

Hi, I have question in regards of doing a clean install
of Windows 98.  Do I have to make a Windows 98 boot disc
inorder to boot the computer into setup.  I have
successfully done a clean install of Windows XP by

Is there a way to force 98se to see an ntfs drive, if not
is there a way to convert the drive back to fat32?

My Win98SE can no longer access the A: Drive floppy disk.  
I have replaced the ribbon cable, used two new (refurb)
Teac drives from Dell parts, deleted the controller and
redetected it and still the same problem.  The drive

     The largest HDD I have is 10G, with over 6G free space.   I already had
to replace a couple HDDs.  Anything I want to save, has been "burned" on CD
Roms.   If your computer is not used for collecting videos or music,  or used

 Thank you in advance for reading this.  I recently
started using a older model of a laptop.  this is a dell
