 I have 98SE with a 4GB disk (C:).
I have run defrag several times, and it gets
to about 26% after about 3 hours, and then
seems to get stuck.  I have run it in safe mode,

hd setup that destroys all data.
what are my options for getting this data off somehow?

Hi, everytime I start up my computer, Scandisk runs upto
48% and then stops. I then receive the following error:

I am mainly familiar with Win2K and WinXP installs, so
when I get a Win98 box to fix, I am oftened stumbled.
The case:

My windows files got deleted so i had to reinstall it
using the disck that came with my computer only to find
that i cant. It asks for something called a product
identification number which i didnt get with the computer

following files do not download/extract.
The problem appears that the file on Cd (or a part of it)
win98_45.cab is corrupt.
