I was attempting to do a backup and after going to accessories>systems
tools>backup, I get a message stating that the backup.lnk is missing.  I
tried to find the file and could not.

The floppy drive installed on my PB platinum has died so I have installed a
USB floppy drive.
I now want to restore my factory settings and need to insert the boot disk

When I run scandisk and defrag my computer locks up. Windows 98se. I tried to
run scandisk in safe mode and got a meessage that scandisk ghad to restart 10
times because another program was writing to the disk. but everything was

While doing maintenance, I did the "Disk Cleanup" button, and it
showed me a bunch of files in the IE Content folder, which I deleted
manually through Windows Explorer instead of letting "Disk Cleanup" do
it.  Now it ("Disk Cleanup") doesn't work.  So how do I use the

Folks,
I have a msi 48x16x48 cd rom.
i seem to be having some trouble with it which, in hindsight has been
occuring for some time.

Both my cdroms no longer display files from explorer. If I put in a cd, it
know there is one there but does not display files. If I start in dos mode I
can see the files.

I royally messed up my Works2000 and cannot remove nor reinstall it, and
cannot install a new Works program because it detects the old one. Can I
delete the folder from CPQDRV without messing up anything else and would this
remove all traces of Works2000?

I have been trying to help a friend who has just bought a Dell computer with
(apparently) one IDE header which support 80 wires, while the other supports
only the standard 40 wires.
He has bought another identical ATA 133 disk to complement the one that came

I am trying to fdisk a new Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 120Gb ATA/133 HDD.
I boot the PC with a Win98SE boot disk and every time I run fdisk it gives
me a maximum value of 51Mb
How can I get the full amount capacity??
