what are the benefits in converting from FAT32 to NTFS ???  My HDD is 120 Gb
and OS 98SE fully updated. Is it worth doing.?

I've just obained a 5 year old machine with a fresh install of Win98SE.
I've checked the BIOS and it says the HD is 10Gb (opening the machine to
install other hardware and physically looking at the printed text on the HD
has confirmed this).

Before I go to data recovery, as I have found *some* of my files, here's
what happened.
Yesterday afternoon, my computer locked up, I hit reset. Computer boots back
up, and Disk Minder (McAfee's Nuts and Bolts version of Scandisk) tells me
win98 on 3.5 disks14 Jan 2005 23:19 GMT1
I have win98 on a CD and want to install it on an old laptop without
cd-drive. can I transfer win98 to 3.5 disks?

I'm trying to rinstall Windows 98SE.
I have created a boot disk, but when I restart the machine with it in and use
cd c:
from the a> prompt, it momentarily goes to C:> then almost instantly revers

Thought I had investigated what had to be done, but unfortunately I am
now stuck.
In short, I have put in a second hard disk with its own controller card.
The computer sees the disk ok, partionioning the disk made win98 see the

When I on the pc and try to go to safe mode, it gives the 'safe mode' menu
and says I must go to commandd prompt option and do a scanreg. However when I
hit the option,  the C:> NEVER appear.
After a long while it gives the following missing files messages:-
