When I try and do a defrag, after a very short time - it says: "Drive
contents changed, restarting". I tried closing down everything except
Explorer, Systray, and Defrag. So nothing's running, did a spyware scan -
cleared out the 4 tracking cookies. Still the same thing keeps ...

the fix to be able to install 46gig plus hard drives was only avail from tech
support and they no longer supoort does any one else have a copy of FDisk for
W98 later than 15 of dec 1999?? or m=know where to get one from???

I'd like to replace my current HD configuration with dual 80GB drives.  One
HD will be used for OS, Program Files, and data.  The second HD will be a
backup of the first.

I gave my buddy a 60g harddrive, he has a older compaq, when I installed the
drive there were ALOT more directories than I had on there and most were all
symbols like *^&$%#^% + more. I could to still access data but when I clicked
on a garbled file it said it could'nt be found. ...

I have run out of space in my hard drive (have 500 mb left and need 2 gh).
Can I remove the partition from d drive and ad the volume it to c drive
without loosing my programs in the c drive? or does the c drive have to
re-format in order to add more volume.

I recently downloaded a very large file only to be confronted with an error
to the effect that the file was too big and I would need NTFS. Does that
mean that I have to change to a later version of windows or can I keep
win98? The file in question is 4360 Mb.

I have some text document saved on a floppy disk during 1991-1992 time. The
disk is Memorex 2S/2D 3.5". The format of the disk is unknown. It could be
an old Macintosh format.

I've just recently had Win98SE reinstalled. Each time I've tried to defrag C
drive, Disk Defragmenter gets hung up on "Checking disk for errors 0%".
Likewise, when I try ScanDisk, the application stalls at "Checking file
allocation tables" & "Checking folders". Then a message ...

i copied some files  needed (from my windows XP laptop for a friend who uses
windows 98) onto a CD-RW cd.  when i tried to use the cd in the windows 98
computer, the cd was not recognised and came up with an error message
D:\ is not accessible.

Despite having 1GB of RAM with 70% free resources I get an error message
stating I have insufficient free memory whenever I try to use Disk
Defragmenter. I have tried closing down all applications and have also tried

My current set up is 3 hard drives plus a cd-rom. The operating system and
one disk for storage is connected to the primary channel.The second channel
is set-up as Master = CD-Rom
Slave = Hard Disk for storage
