   I have been told that a data cd (also audio cd) is
first "read" from the middle track. Another person told me
that it is first "read" from the inside track.  I always thought
it was first read from the outside (near the edge) track.

On one of my computers with Win 98, there are 3 hard drives and 1 CD-RW
installed. The system BIOS detects all 4 of these drives with no problems.

I can't run Scan Disk to completion or load Symantec's GoBack on my Compaq
Desktop because something is writing to my hard disk causing restarts.  I
shut down running programs, but this didn't eliminate the problem.  Any

   I have a Quantum "Fireball" 1.2GB HDD that went
bad.  I got a message regarding a problem with the
"controller".   I swapped the controller (same controller)
from a similar HDD and I still get the same message.
