I am going to be reinstalling microsoft 98 on a friends computer the only thing is I have a genuine cd, BUT, I have lost the cd key for it. Does anyone know if i could do it without or how to get hold of one. ????

I want to set up new portable hard drive for both use with my main W2K-Pro computer and my old laptop which runs W98SE. I am aware that W98 does not support NTFS so I have always used FAT32 as my file system despite its disadvantages.

The directory tree in Windows Explorer has been renamed for some reason. I think a scandisk operation caused it. I have replaced C:\My Documents by creating a new folder and downloading my files from the server.....creating a new directory tree for my documents.
