I have a Toshiba Satellite 2545CDS laptop that includes a floppy disk drive
(a:) and a CDROM drive (d:).  (1) I cannot access these drives properly.  The
floppy disk drive can read some floppy disks and not others.  Some disks it

My Windows 98SE machine has just failed after years of good service - BIOS

I have removed its hard drive, fitted it into a usb enclosure and connected
it to my XP Pro laptop.

XP Home PC. so I formated the drive. Having purchased a bigger storage HD for

   One problem floppy drive in a laptop, I hear a "wine" noise (belt slip)
during an attempt to read a floppy.  I removed the floppy drive and checked
it.  I removed the belt and cleaned it with a rubber cleaner/revitalizer.
Afterwards, no more "wine" noise and the floppy drive can ...
