Hi:  My startup files are being bypassed.  A request to
type the name of the Command Interpreter (e.g.,
C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM) appears.  It seems I have lost my
command interpreter.  My setup disk is corrupt.  

I have a frequent problem with the icons on the desktop rearranging
themselves for no apparent reason.  It seems to occur mostly when the
desktop initializes, but it also happens occasionally after a program is
closed; not with any program in particular.

If I delete a large number of files (somewhere around a
thousand) at once, my system freezes for a good solid
minute.  After it refreshes, if I delete even one file the
system hangs up again.  After I reboot everything is normal
