Here is what I did: (on my other, older computer of
course.)
1. Out in my garage, I found Windows 98SE (CD, Disk and
book. The computer I am referring to has Windows

Since I installed Nero DVD programs, I have been uable to
see a directory of files on my CD ROM drive using My
Computer,  The drive icons show, but the files are not
there and cannot be accessed.

I (or I should say my SO) installed a new Maxtor 120GB HD to my HP Pavilion
today.   The problem is that we can't figure out how to assign a drive
letter to the darn thing.  He has done Fdisk and Bios and in Bios it seemed

All my devices in the system device manager are duplicated
when i remove one that is causing a hardware conflict and
reboot the hardware wizard detects a new device and
installs the device twice.I found a fix to this before ont

Can anyone help?  I get the following ERROR MESSAGE when I
start my computer:

When I hit ctrl+alt+del and choose end task for a program
that has stopped responding, after I click the OK box in
the popup that says this program is not responding, would
you like to shut it down, windows hangs up.

Everytime I start my computer, it starts in safe mode. I
tried to fix it following some instructions from this
website, but I couldn't find what I supposed to change. It
told me to change Bootsafe=1 to Bootsafe=0, but I couldn't

I need to make a common registry copy for many win98 machines. I've
exported the registry with regedit but I've noticed that when win98
saves the registry(scanreg) it saves 4 files: system.dat user.dat
win.ini system.ini. The registry file saved with regedit contains only
