I have windows 98 and want to install windows 98 SE. Will
the installation affect my files already on the hard drive
under Windows 98. Will I still be able to access the files
as I do now.

I created a folder for my JPG's. It used to be that when I
opened this folder and single-clicked any one of the
icons, a "Generating Preview..." message would appear. A
moment later, a thumbnail of the the jpg file would

my defrag on win 98se comes up okay, but sits idle,
forever. I have run it many times in the recent past and

Can anyone remember the utility that used to be in Norton software, ages
ago, that would read and re-rewrite to hard disk everything that was already
on it.  thereby "refreshing" the data, mainly to avoid any potential
"clipping" (recording decay rate) problems ?

I am upgrading my laptop and was told that I need to
upgrade my Windows 98 with Windows 98 Second Edition.  I
was told that if I go to the Microsoft web site and

I have heard in some discussion groups that Win98SE does
not run properly with DDR memory on most motherboards.
Aperently Microsoft has a list of boards that do work with
Win98se and DDR. Has anyone had any experience with this

shortcut to a new location the system freezes. If I drag
