On a sony Vaio laptop, every time I try to start up it
gets to the Windows screen and starts to load the icons
in the tackbar and then it shuts off. It runs fine in
safe mode or dos. I've gone into msconfig I've done a

OK… here's one I've never run into before.
I was downloading a tune from Kazaa that seemed intolerably slow but I
was glad to finally get it. The second it was completely downloaded
the online icon in the taskbar disappeared so to be able to go offline

I use 98SE OS. I was advised that it is a good idea to re install the 98SE
about every 6 months over the top ....anybody have any thoughts on this
advise. (I dont have any probs at the moment but it is about 2 years since I
last installed the OS)

Need some help.  I am using Windows 98 SE and installed
the drivers for a San Disk Viewer.  I opened My Computer
and the new assigned drive letter E: was present and all
was well.  I shut down the Dell Laptop last evening and

I have successfully installed the TTS feature, English
language, in Win98SE, US English. It works great with
Adobe Reader 6.0. My question now is can I also install

I have a Win98 machine and the program shortcuts will not
start the application. When double clicked, an hourglass
displays for about 1/2 of a second and nothing happens.

Awhile back, my computer rebooted the entire system by
itself. I was able to recover most of my programs through
online downloads or download files and such. However, my
fonts are disabled. What I mean by this is that I have a

Whenever I try to open "my computer", click on start menu,
or open Interent Explorer, the system hangs. I can End
Task Explorer through Task Manager which results in a
Fatal Error 0028:E6660108. I've checked Tech Net which

i have power reg scheduler running in my computer and i
saw on the net where it is a spyware i am not sure if it
is or not and want to know if it is and or can it be
deleted from my computer safely with out any complications
