when i log on to blackplanet.com and try to enter the
chatroom the chat boz comes up the screen names are on the
side as normal but the chat dialog screen it self is all
whote wit a lil box in the upper left hand corner. In this

just wondering if win 98 has some kind of log file that records events and
operations conducted on a computer, like whether files have been unhidden,
or whether an email application was opened up, and at what time.  Does this

windows won't load and the error "you need to reinstall
windows" appears.  I can boot my computer with the win 98
boot disk and access the cd but when you try to run setup
the error message "this program cannot be run in dos

i am running an AMD Athlon 900 mhz computer...i am running
windows 98 first edition....i have just basically rebuilt
my whole system...the only things that were not replaced
were the cd rom and the cd rom burner.

I have Win98 SE installed on a Dell PIII 450 with 256 meg of RAM.
The problem is with the mouse.  It is really jerky, especially when I'm
surfing, it also seems the sound card is affected similarly.
What can I do to fix this?

had 2 viruses (goabot and lovesan) on my computer and
when I was trying to remove it another one came (blaster
variant I think) and now windows won't load.

Windows 98 came installed on my HP 8580C PC
When I try to SHUT DOWN or RESTART my computer this
message appears "This program (Nisserv) has performed an
illegal operation and will be shut down......"

Windows 98 was reloaded to fix a problem and now when
restarted, it skips the network logon.  When you log off,
it will give you the chance to logon correctly.  I was
told there is a registry key that needs to be changed.
