I'm a computer novice. But when I boot up my laptop I
always receive the message that says HIBCHK was found on
1 line of my autoexec.bat.
Please help me figure this out, and fix it.

I am trying to change my screen saver password.  I follow
the instructions...control panel, passwords, change
password, type in old then new password.  I get a message
telling me my OLD password is incorrect.  Yet, when I use

Every day microsoft says I need to install Update number
823559.  I select and install it.  It shows installation
successful.  Next day, same thing.  Always wanting to
install 823559 and then showing install complete.

I did all kinds of things because my desktop and tool bar
disapered and then i Deleted Explorer, now when i restart
the computer its says that i have to reload windows, the
problem is I don't have the disk because i upgraded to 98

Hi there, I recently (and stupidly) deleted a program in
the "add/delete programs" section and now, all of my
graphics look grey and dotted. Also, most screens are now
bigger and I have to scroll back and forth to read any

Looking for a good Windows analysis tool to find what's
missing.  Can't get online.  Used Ad-Aware 6 and deleted
something necessary.  (I've already restored the Ad-Aware

When I start my computer, I receive a window that says it
cannot find my desktop toys window and I need to reinstall
it.       I dont know what they are talking about and how
to fix it.

My PC clock is the only thing missing on my taskbar.  I
have gone to taskbar properties and the SHOW CLOCK option
is CHECKED on.  I have turned it on and off many times.  I
am stump.  Auto hide is not on.  I have move the taskbar

Several unsecured Win98SE machines that have been used for client
training/assessment have been messed around with and are suffering
from several problems, the main one being:
Folders that I would expect to be on the Start menu are missing from

gone through the msconfig utility, and checked system
files with sfc.
