One prob is the clock stops on shutdown ... If you shut
down for 5 hours you lose 5 hours on the clock. Have done
the suggested things to check battery, and it passed them
OK so am now stumped.

I bought an HP computer a few years ago complete with

computer but sufficiently fast for wordprocessing.  We

i have been experiencing problems when i starting windows
98.When i log it brings up a message mprexe has caused an
illegal operation.and so far i dont know how to fix it.

I`m downloading some old radio shows and when I click on
more than two of them,I get just 2 that actually start the
download,the rest i guess are qued.
As the first two download,one of the rest comes back up

This message appears during startup when the Windows 98
appears then goes blue.
What does this indicate? I tried several search engines to

ok here's the thing. My computer has been screwing up for the longest
time. I've been having trouble with internet explorer, but here's the
big issue: It won't even start! My sister says that she was online and
it froze, so she restarted it. When she did she got this

This is what I would like to do. Please advise.
Currently i have a 2gig master (C:\, E:\, F:\) with w98se and an archive
of WFWG and most of my programs. It is full for all practical purposes.
Also another newer 8gig drive slave (D:\, G:\) with one program which

my desktop icons and taskbar? Did anything crash on my pc

What's a good site to look up fatal errors?  When I try to
run a program from a disc called "The Art of Sushi" from
Global Star, I get a fatal error message <016F:BFF9DFFF>
There's no way out of it, I have to shut down my computer.

No Taskbar or Icons After Installation of Game27 Dec 2003 20:47 GMT8
Please help!   My son installed a game he got for Christmas -- "Delta
Force Task Force Dagger."  Now, the computer does NOT have a Start
button, a taskbar, nor any desktop icons.   (When I press
Alt-Ctrl-Del, the only file that loads is WMexe.  I do not see
PS/2 mouse with serial adaptator not detected by Win 9827 Dec 2003 19:48 GMT3
I have a new PS/2 mouse (MS Intellisense) which I
connected using a serial adaptator to the serial port on
a quite old PC. The mouse is not detected by Win 98, even
after several drivers updates/changes. No PS/2 port
