After Windows loads various drivers, etc. and the arrow shows up for the mouse (1-1/2 minutes), there is now a 45 second delay before something else (don't know what it is) loads and you can actually use the mouse.

Whenever I log into Windows 98, my system freezes up right as the Microsoft startup sound comes up. I have run scan disk and played with msconfig in safe mode but still no luck. please help.
