Thanks in advance for any help with this problem.
Windows 98 SE computer. Printers nor scanners work on
either LPT1 nor LPT2. The problem exists on two computers
formally linked via lan cards in a at-home, peer-to-peer

Seems like a pretty common question....is there a link to
upgrade to se from just plain ole' 98? I got one of them
new fagled toys that need a minimun of se to work...has

Somwhow my Win98 system is locked in safe mode.  I have
tried changing settings in control panel, restarting etc.
to no avail.

I want to upgrade my memory.  I can't figure out how to
take off the cover.  I don't want to pull too hard.  There
is a thumb screw on the right and a phillips head screw on
the left.  But this doesn't seem to release the cover.  My

three-ish years ago.  Don't know what/how it happened but

Every time I start my windows I get told that there has
been an illegal operation with vccleanup ( i think that is
what it is called) and has to be shut down.
Can u help?
