i can read AND POST to this newsgroup via news server ms.microsoft.com.  it
is listed as my default news server.
my question is:  i can read and NOT POST to another newsgroup at a news

I have a W98Se system and the DMA boxes have disappeared from all
relevant devices in Device Mgr. I recently updated the IDE drivers
from the Intel site. Was this a bad thing to have done??
The BIOS setting for the relevant devices all have DMA enabled.

I have a Canon digital camera that connects via the USB
port.  Having installed the software for it I can upload
photos but then the PC hangs on boot up.  I uninstalled
the camera software and it still hangs.  I have found by

After installing Windows critical updates, my computer now
says that I need to restart to let the new settings take
effect.  I've restarted, shut down the computer at least
ten times, and the same message pops up.  It also won't

I have Windows 98 intalled on my Pentium II 333MHz 80MB
RAM computer. The OS gives me mprexe errors with

just get rid of them. They arent in the add/remove

how do i get out of safe mode in windows 98.i have not

patches in the past.
Now, in IE 5.01, the site does not work for me.
