Anyone have an opinion about Avast vs AVG for anti-virus programs.  PC
World gave them both good marks. I'm tired of paying Nortons exorbitant
prices.

i have had a new modem fitted and was given a cd with the
driver on,but after installing cd, windows 98 will not
detect a modem...could any one help...it is a conexant 56k

Whenever I goto microsoft site and let it check for
updates for this computer it always says in the Critical
Updates that I need the file 823559.  I have installed
this file 6 times and have re-downloaded it all six times

continue using W98 and W98SE to download all of the critical updates now -

Whenever I start up my computer after I log into my

anyone know why my taskbar would have a black background

folders are always listed last, even if I select a different 'Arrange Icons
by' setting.  I've even 'Reset All Folders' under 'Folder Options' / 'View'.
