Anyone have an opinion about Avast vs AVG for anti-virus programs.  PC
World gave them both good marks. I'm tired of paying Nortons exorbitant

i have had a new modem fitted and was given a cd with the
driver on,but after installing cd, windows 98 will not

Is it necessary to upgrade the present release to W98 2nd

Whenever I goto microsoft site and let it check for
updates for this computer it always says in the Critical
Updates that I need the file 823559.  I have installed
this file 6 times and have re-downloaded it all six times

How do I get to my win.ini file? When my computer boots up
a get a message stating that it can't find svcpack exe and
that I should go to win.ini and take svcpack exe out. How

Since Microsoft will no longer provide support for Windows 98 and Windows
98SE after January 4, 2004 - it certainly behooves those of us who plan to
continue using W98 and W98SE to download all of the critical updates now -
before it is too late.

What can I do about this?

Whenever I start up my computer after I log into my
network or cancel out of that screen my computer tries to
located new hardware when there is nothing new on it. I
just deleted a program, then re-installed a different one,
