I would like to know how to remove the rectangle shaped
boxes that ask about compressing files.These boxes appear
every time I start my computer. A Dell with Windows 98.

An older computer running Win 98 SE has a very early USB port which I
presume would be called vers 1.0?  This computer has had a chip upgrade and
at present I do not know what it has been changed to.
I was told previously that this port made need to be activated before it

im working a friends old laptop. she asked me to
reinstall 98SE, which i did and all went well. she wants
to get online with it useing her DSL but the laptop does
not have a ethernet jack. so she is using a netgear usb

While browsing the Internet once, an advertisement for
porn popped up on my screen. I clicked it closed, but then
I noticed on my browser (Internet Explorer, v.6) that
there was something called an IST Bar. It basically is

This friend of mine has the following problem :
It seems he cannot delete the Internet temp files / off line contents (Tools
| Options > Delete files, etc.). As a result he cannot display the updated

I recently reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled all
software and Windows 98SE operating system, including all
updates on my Sony PCG-F390 laptop. Everything is working
fine except for one item.

My buttons don't have an x or- sign all of the buttons in
any program show numbers They function but it is something

I try to uninstall and keep getting the message:  Error
loading c:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\ENGINE\6\INEL3~1\Ctor.dll  
The system cannot find the path specified.  I had
previously deleted from Start/Program Files/... but since

I've absolutely downloaded the correct drivers.  Went to
gateway.com, downloaded and installed the correct drivers
for my monitor.  Did the whole install, it found and
installed my monitor.  Even says the model number and
