well here lately it has been hanging (freeze) at the
windows logo screen at shutdown, have to use power button
to turn off.

Press reset and eventually - on re-start, get a message
telling me to avoid running scandisk shut down windows

I down loaded Explorer 6 service pack 1 and the system
will not come back up.  Using the start up disk the system
runs scan disk and neumerious errors are found and
repaired. however a message comes up with the following:

icons in folders including my computer don't keep the
