Shut Down Hangs - may be free space issue25 Feb 2004 21:45 GMT1
About half the time when I shut down, it hangs.  I have to
power off.  When I power up, of course Scandisk takes
place.  It always says "free space count was fixed".
What can I do to fix this?

How can a .jpg file's DPI be reduced once it's saved?
Purpose: an image scanned at high resolution, but
needing low dpi (like a letter) consumes too much space.

Hello, I don't know if I am doing this right but here
goes. I have XP, my friend has Windows 98. He did

I noticed yesterday that most of the icons on my desktop had, on the
bottom portion of each icon, a minuscule white rectangle with a red

Folks,
I'm stumped. I had a power supply fan die and thought it was the reason for
my lock ups. I replaced the power supply and the CMOS battery while I was
at it. It won't boot into windows. It goes into Safe Mode fine and there
