I have two questions for you. First, How can I protect
with a password a local forder?? the only solution is hide
the folder??
Second, I used to use in the Windows Explorer the VIEW AS

Just curious as to what size the buffer is suppose to be
set at in win98. it seems like when I run more than one
program, it seems to lock me up or slow me down real bad.
Can anyone help?

Recently I had some trouble with a cranky on-board
sound card. I reinstalled all the MoBo drivers from
the CD. Now, when I start Win98SE, I get the Unknown
Device Found wizard attemting to install drivers for

Had problem with FreeCell.  Usually means problem
elsewhere.  PCR gave great help with areas to research.  
Came up with this:
ctrl+alt+del showed 'Nc'

Will Windows 98 SE benefit from a memory upgrade from
512mb to 1024mb. I have a Gigabyte GA-7VAX motherboard and
an AMD Athlon XP 2.1Ghz processor. Can I upgrade without

My pointer/system freezes for 10 seconds at times.  
Everything just stops...and begins working normally
again.  I run defragmenter/scandisk weekly and nothing
seems to relieve this constant annoyance.

How can I clear the "NAMED" section of the "Find Files"

Question on a PIII computer originally supplied with win98FE and two

My nonprofit has a donated Armada with a corrupted Win98. No CD Key was
provided, (no OS sticker on the laptop. Therfore, reinstalling 98 from the

For some unknown reason, when they replaced my smaller hard drive for a
larger one, they gave my CD-ROM the letter "M" instead of "D".  This causes
confusion, from always remembering the CD-ROM being "D"... How do I change
it to "D"?     Thanks

Does anyone know what an open db error # 429 means, and
how do I correct it?  I get this message when I try to
load a program, and it says active x component cannot
create object.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
