My grandma's emachine won't power off.  The shutdown
command starts like it is going to turn off, but then at
the last minute the computer reboots.  Any suggestons?

The clock in the taskbar loses time. It automatically
corrects when I reboot.Any ideas how to correct or which
programs may be interfering.

mpldfg.exe this program is needed for opening files of
type 'Application' i cannot locate this any where in my

My OS is Win 98.  My SONY CD-RW CRX120E
gives me a "Not Ready" error when I try to record or read.
This happened last year but corrected itself.  I have
reinstalled the SONY setup disk.But no use.

How do I stop popups from constantly interrupting my work
on the internet? I am using Windows 98 and was told by the
tech support at AOL that I needed to go to START, RUN, and

On my main machine (running WindowsXP), the text beneath
the desktop icons "floats" above the desktop with a slight
shadow underneath it (i.e. there is no colored box
surrounding the text). I'm wondering if I can achieve the

As a still a near novice myself, I've lost audio several
times and until being helped by using forum's, I had no
idea how to replace a sound card especially since my OS
doesn't seem to specifically list any such item.

I just installed a new hard drive, and nowit is being
displayed with the icon that originally set for my cd
burner.  I have try to look for a way to access/change the
icon but no avail.  Is there a way to do so?  I know it is
