I got a Windows 98 computer off of a friend named Wayne
recently.  I took it to work to use as a standby
computer.  How can I change the name of the computer
from "WAYNE" to something else?

When I change the name of the PC and try to connect it does not allow me to.
It gives me an error of not able to connect to domain. When I change the
name back to what it was it works fine. I have Win98SE and WinNT 4.0 Server
as the Domain Controller.

Randomly I lose all my sounds.  When I go to Control Panel/Sounds and try to
preview the sounds I get the following error message:
       Windows cannot play the C:\Windows\media\xxx.wav file. It may be
       damaged or  may not be a valid sound file. Replace the file and try

Running win98se, everytime I boot up, I get this error:
RUNDLL - Error in NvQTwk Missing entry:NvCplDaemon
I click ok and everything seems fine.
Other than an annoyance, is this something I should be concerned with?

Hi, I posted an error message the other and got a few hits
but nothing seemed to help.   I have tried loading a few
things like AOL and Yahoo messenger and I get an error
stating that the USER.EXE wont work.  Can i fix this?

On a Windows 98SE machine when starting Windows I get the
message "IPHLPAPI.DLL cannot start. Check the file to
determine the problem."  I don't know what IPHLPAPI.dll is

At least twice a day my computer freezes and my only
option is to turn it off and reboot. I have run the scan
disk and the defrag many times and have not come up any
errors. I delete the temp files at least once a day. I

ODBC can't load the resource \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\

When I open up the Windows Settings window, none of the
icons work.  When I click on "Display" or "Internet
Options," or any of the other icons, nothing happens. I
